This room which today we would call the master bedroom, is the first room above the ground floor of the West Wing to be opened to the public. Situated over the Peacock Dining Room, it occupies the entire second floor front of the 1902 addition to the Manor. Originally it was the bedroom of Frederick Diodati Thompson who built the addition in 1902. Although later used by the owners who succeeded him, the room remains essentially as it was when Mr. Thompson occupied it.
